Inspired by community. Always served with love.

Levant is a love letter to heritage and home brought to life by Art Herzallah, Monyca Currier-Herzallah, Issa Musallam, and Saheer Kassis, who share a deep passion for bold flavors and cultural connection.
Issa Musallam and Saheer Kassis are a Palestinian-American couple with deep roots in Petaluma. Saheer was born and raised here, while Issa has proudly lived in Petaluma for over 15 years, forming strong community ties and a deep love for the city’s sense of togetherness. As a couple, they’ve always dreamed of creating a space that celebrates their culture while giving back to the community that they love so much. Levant is that dream realized.
Arafat “Art” Herzallah and Monyca Currier-Herzallah have been proud fixtures in the Bay Area food and hospitality scene for over 25 years. Their past successes include Freekeh, a celebrated Palestinian restaurant in San Francisco’s Mission District known for its halal meats and vibrant flavors, as well as the historic Pork Store Cafe. At Levant, Art brings his deep-rooted passion for hospitality and storytelling through food, while Monyca infuses the menu with a distinct California style, putting a fresh, local twist on beloved Middle Eastern classics.
Here you’ll find dishes inspired by generations of tradition from warm flatbreads and house-made labneh to spiced meats, fresh herbs, and vibrant mezze meant to be shared. We source ingredients locally whenever possible and infuse every recipe with heart, intention, and a modern twist on our heritage.
This isn’t just a restaurant. It’s our way of bringing people together around tables, through flavors, and across cultures.
